As Lead ESG reporting in Hydro Aluminium Metal you will get the chance to develop our reporting capabilities by driving improvements and tracking performance against targets for climate, nature, and social responsibility. About the job and the team
You will join the Aluminium Metal business area (AM), with about 6500 employees at 20 aluminium smelters and recyclers throughout Europe, North America and Brazil. The AM sustainability team consists of 12 ambitious and dedicated colleagues with a wide array of sustainability competence. You will be responsible for leading AM’s sustainability reporting processes in collaboration with colleagues in AM and the rest of Hydro.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reporting process owner for AM’s sustainability reporting, including gathering, verifying and consolidating data for disclosure in alignment with Hydro standards, market expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate, coordinate and implement digital systems, data architecture projects, and other initiatives to enhance reporting capabilities and ensure continuous improvement of the reporting process in AM. Establish a set of internal controls to ensure correct and high-quality reporting.
- Follow regulatory developments within ESG reporting and reporting standards to ensure implementation.
- Monitor performance against sustainability KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
Who you are:
To thrive in this role, you combine strong analytical abilities and attention to detail with an improvement mindset and an interest in digital tools that allow effective communication of sustainability targets and achievements whilst ensuring regulatory compliance.
Qualifications we look for:
- Education: Master's degree in environmental science or sustainability economics, business, finance or accounting
- Experience: At least 5 years working experience with at least 3 years’ experience with financial or sustainability reporting.
- Sustainability knowledge: Thorough understanding of sustainability practices, reporting standards and regulatory requirements is essential.
- Digital skills: Experience with accounting and reporting software and a strong interest in developing, implementing and improving digital tools.
- Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to work in cross-functional teams and with external and internal stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to align with internal and external stakeholders, train the organization in methods and processes and create trust through transparent ESG reporting.
- Languages: You speak and write fluently in English. Fluency in Norwegian is an advantage. Portuguese might be an additional asset.
Additional information:
The position is located at Hydro’s head-office in Oslo, Norway and will report to Head of Sustainability, Hydro Aluminium Metal.
