Your role in the teams will be key in ensuring our customers achieve success throughout their entire digital journey within our app. You'll be providing straightforward and efficient tools to empower them in their pursuit of better air quality with sustainable technologies.

As a UX Designer at Airthings, your work will contribute to establishing air quality monitoring as a standard practice in every home. Your mission is to empower all households, ensuring that every family enjoys the comfort of breathing healthy indoor air. You will empower all homes to make sure the entire family spends their time indoors comfortably breathing healthy air. You'll achieve this by creating exceptional experiences cross digital and physical, delivering insights that are actionable and with solutions that truly solves their air quality-related challenges.

 Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team consisting of developers and a Product Manager, taking the lead as the UX designer.

  • Play a crucial role in a UX Team that employs forward-thinking design principles to maintain our products and solutions at the forefront of user experience excellence.

  • Co-lead discovery work with the Product Manager and shaping user experience definition based on customer insights and strategy.

  • Serve as the bridge between our diverse global customer base and our digital product offerings, converting customer feedback into delightfuluser experiences and actively engaging the entire team in this creative process.

How do we work?

We strongly believe in the value of cross-functional, empowered product teams, responsible for defining and solving the most important problems, aligning with our current product and company strategy.

At Airthings, our UX designers are not solely focused on UI design. Instead, we expect them to translate user needs into viable concepts and actively contribute to the discovery process, ensuring that the team collaboratively solves the most critical problems. Moreover, our design philosophy at Airthings is focused on a self-driven initiative. As a result, you will be responsible for testing and validating your ideas and concepts at all stages of our product development process.

Being a growing company, we are in the process of refining our approach to defining the right balance between team autonomy and the necessity of aligning our efforts with cross-team dependencies. Currently, we work on a quarterly rhythm, with a few rituals to ensure alignment on the overall direction between user-facing teams such as yours and the platform teams responsible for the IOT firmware and cloud infrastructure.

To thrive in the position as Lead UX Designer, we believe you are self-driven and creative. You are someone that can help us grow whilst ensuring the highest quality with design craftsmanship deeply rooted in empathy with our users.

As the advocate of the user in all settings internally and externally, you understand that what customers explicitly request may not always align with their actual needs. Your passion lies in digging deep to uncover the genuine underlying issues, and you thrive when turning complex problems into simple solutions that our end users will fall in love with. You have the ability in crafting a coherent, long-term vision for the user experience, while also maintaining the necessary attention to detail, allowing the team to deliver user value in a true agile fashion, one step at a time.
