Hydro Aluminium Metal is a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

 

Aluminium Metal Commercial is responsible for the global sale of Hydro’s casthouse products. In the transition towards a greener economy, Hydro takes leadership by continuously pushing for lower carbon aluminium products to the market. The Sheet Ingot & Foundry Alloys Product Area in Commercial is responsible for the sales and marketing of Sheet Ingot and Foundry Alloys in Europe and is an important contributor to Aluminum Metal’s commercial success, as well as our sustainability efforts in the European markets.

 

We are now looking for a Business Development Manager for the product area sheet ingot & foundry alloy to take lead on our project portfolio. You will join a highly competent and solution-oriented team, triggered by creating success through our customers and partners, in close collaboration with our plants, technical teams, Sales, R&D and other Product Areas.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and mature a portfolio of projects supporting the sheet ingot & foundry alloy go to market strategy and decarbonization agenda
  • Participate in development and implementation of product strategies in the product area focusing especially on capturing value from the Hydro decarbonization and recycling ambitions
  • Work strategically to develop and support our product and sustainability offering in partnership with key customers and the sales organization
  • Project management: coordinate and manage projects/programs through our value chain
  • Provide input to business plans and strategies

 

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant MSc or equivalent degree, coupled with relevant experience
  • Possess a strategic and commercial mindset
  • Demonstrated success in steering matrix projects with the ability to work strategically to implement plans and actions
  • Experience from product development, negotiation, developing sustainable products and services
  • Experience within automotive value chain and/or aluminum or other metal industry is an advantage
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken

Additional Information

The position reports to Head of Sheet Ingot and Foundry Alloys Product Area, and is located in Oslo, Norway. Other locations in Europe could also be considered. Business travels is expected.
